The Rame Peninsula is made up of tidal creeks, sandy beaches, rolling fields and outstanding country parks. Small villages hide at the heads of creeks, waiting to be discovered, whilst the stretch of coast fronting onto Whitsand Bay offers fantastic views and great walking along the South West Coast Path. We have provided lots of information along with some amazing walks which have been tried and tested. Cawsand and Kingsand. (once a popular haunt of smugglers) are popular places to visit with a wide variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Both with safe sandy bathing beaches. A seasonal passenger ferry runs from Cawsand to Plymouth Barbican. The stunning location of Whitsand bay and Tregantle beach both within a 5 minute drive are regarded the best surf breaks on the south Cornish coast., Mount Edgcumbe House with spectacular gardens, stunning walks and Country Park is a short drive or bike ride away …not to be missed!! Antony House, National Trust historic country estate and gardens is only a short drive Rainy Day?…….Fancy a day out to Plymouth’s historic City? Oodles of family friendly activities, such as the Mayflower Museum, The Hoe, National Marine Aquarium, West Hoe Park, Heritage trails and walks, The Arts Institute and the Royal William Yard are only a short Ferry ride away. Take the car or bike on the sweeping and picturesque lane around Millbrook estuary and 5 minutes later you can hop onto the foot passenger ferry from Cremyll to the Barbican. (runs all year round) Millbrook is a great launch point for exploring all of Cornwall, Devon, Dartmoor, The Tamar Estuary (AOONB), Looe, Eden Project, Polperro, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Bodmin Moor etc These are all within easy driving distance from the cottage.
